2015: A Year in Review

Taking the SAT three times. Learning how to drive and finally getting my license. Touring colleges. Creating a list of thirteen schools to apply to. Boarding a plane to New Mexico. Vacationing in Rhode Island. Spending New Years' Eve in NYC. Getting accepted into a school. 2015 has been a year of new beginnings.

After a successful junior year, I had the opportunity to go on a service trip to a Gallup, New Mexico with a group of students from my church. The trip consisted of meeting the locals of the Navajo reservation, cooking fry dough, hiking to see sunsets (and sunrises), and doing forms of service work such as painting and weeding. After four years of mission trips, I have decided that my trip to New Mexico is the last one of my high school career. I am so thankful for anyone who prayed or donated for me; my life is changed because of these experiences.

After the Navajo mission trip, my dad and I went on our first "real" college tour to Pennsylvania. I toured Lehigh, Villanova, Bucknell, Dickinson, Lafayette, and Gettysburg. From burgers to walking around Muhlenberg's empty campus on a Saturday, it was an exciting beginning to the college application process.

After summer ended, I headed back to school for senior year. It has been busy, tiring, and stressful, but I know that in a few short months, everything will be worth it. The college process is full of ups and downs; so far, I have been accepted to one school, deferred to two, and waiting on the others. I cannot wait to see where I end up, though!

Other memories from 2015:
Prom! Worth the hype? Maybe, maybe not.
DC College trip. My parents may or may not want me to attend school thirteen hours from home.

Thanksgiving in RI. Who says we can't have fun in an empty town when we have the ocean?
